Victor Hanson: A War Like No Other: How the Athenians and Spartans Fought the Peloponnesian War
This is a wonderfully readable history of the Peloponnesion War by Victor Davis Hanson. Definitely for the history buff. He explicates the war chronologically, but also covering its major themes. The chapter titles give you a hint of his unique insights: "Fear", "Fire", "Disease", "Terror", "Armor", "Walls", "Horses", "Ships", "Climax", "Ruin?". If you love ancient history, then this is a must read. (*****)

Probably the best book to come out of the Iraq and Afghan wars. Incredible tale of wartime survival and a unique look at what it takes to produce the warriors of the Seal teams. Riveting and easy read, hard to put down once you start. (****)
